I have been awake since around 2:30 this morning thinking about people that we ministered to and served yesterday. The HolyWay Cafe is booming for JESUS! The managers, Lew and Darlene Mack Seger are doing an absolutely fantastic job there! I walked into a jam packed room of happy people yesterday morning. Angie and I absolutely love seeing this! The coordination of the cafe and our headquarters is working like never before.
The things that have bothered me this morning have been first, a pregnant prostitute who came to the cafe without a proper coat and in shorts yesterday. Of course she did not announce why she did not have other clothes to put on but she told me. She lives in an abandoned house. Angie has taken her home before and was heartbroken as she watched her climb through a window into where she resides with no power or much of anything else. To make matters even worse she has a supposed boyfriend who had gotten mad at her the day before yesterday. They both use the same bucket (I will not use the name she uses for it) to go to the bathroom in and he decided to empty the bucket on all of her clothes and belongings! To have very little and to have something like that happen, how awful is that? She complained of her back aching along with other things from being pregnant. Sometimes we think we have it rough? I was going to go and purchase some sweat pants but I had an important meeting I had to take care of first. Renee and Darlene covered that for me which was a huge blessing but she took off before I could get them to her. She has had an awful crack habit off and on for the nearly seven years that I have been ministering to her. She has been pregnant I don't know how many times since I've known her. I can only remember one time when she lost a baby. Most of the time they are healthy! I will be looking for her this morning to get her the clothes.
Then there was another prostitute who had just got out of jail who also lives in an abandoned house. She has no shoes and is wearing flip flops. She is a size 8 if any of you ladies have extra shoes or boots. If I do not hear of any we will buy her some today because of the frigid temps that are coming.
I had to reopen the cafe for her and three homeless guys yesterday because they were all hungry. The Holy Spirit quickened a message inside of me for all of them after they had finished eating. I told them that I have personally ministered and talked with all four of them on a number of occasions. I said "if the Lord was to come back right now what would happen"? Only one said "I think I would be ok". After asking him some questions and telling him about the false doctrine he was taught it was even more clear to them what would happen. I said because you have been fed you would all go to hell full. I told them that this is by their own choice because they refuse to have a true relationship with Jesus. I love all four of them and consider them my friends. I believe all four of them know how much I care for them. Lew and Darlene are doing a great job of ministering to these people also.
Sometimes when I am in my warm and comfortable bed it becomes uncomfortable when I think of what these people are going through. I also told them that they are a decision away from getting their lives together! I pray they do this before it is too late. Any of the four of them could end up on "The Wall". Please pray for these people!
The scripture Lew and Darlene have on the chalk board at the Cafe for this week.....
Mark 8:34 Then, calling the crowd to join His disciples, He said, "If any of you wants to be My follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow Me.
