It was an incredible night and morning of ministry which started last night at our Headquarters! I showed up at 11:00 p.m. and it was on! First was a couple of regulars who were intoxicated, they stayed for 30 minutes as I ministered into their lives and warned them of what lies ahead if they do not turn from their sinful ways. One keeps talking about going to rehab but as of now has not made the commitment. He is not at the end of himself yet.
Next it was one of the prostitutes (Danielle) who had just been released from jail last week. She had the fake jail house conversion going on while locked up. I warned her last week that if she stayed in this area that she would end up back on heroin again. I asked her about it and she said that she was back on it again. As Proverbs 26:11 says "as a dog returns to his vomit a fool returns to their folly". She lost her mother while incarcerated which has messed her up even more.
Next, it was around 1:30 when 2 young men came into the door. Neither said anything but just started walking back to my desk. As they got closer one said "don't you remember us"? I said that one looked familiar but I could not place where from. I still was wondering what was up with these two then they said that I had ministered to them in the Durham County Jail. I ended up ministering to these two for over an hour. They told me that they had done some very bad things in their young lives but that they wanted to get their lives right. One said that he wanted to be an auto mechanic and the other wants to be a chef. I told them that I would help them reach those goals but it was first and foremost important to get JESUS totally in their lives. I explained the importance of the following scripture......
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.
They ended up leaving after 2:30 a.m. They both were very polite thanking me for my time and help. I pray that they follow through otherwise I will be seeing them again in the jail. Both are so young with so much potential.
I had a number of others that stopped by throughout the night. At 3:00 a.m. I wrapped it up and headed home. Ministering in our headquarters is so awesome!
