We are very excited to announce that we will be ministering in three new locations starting soon! It has been heavy on me to get back to discipling people on the streets in other locations. I did this years ago while with my good friend and brother, Pastor Troy Bohn of R.A.V.E.N. Ministries. We must get more laborers into the harvest! There are so many people on their way to eternal hell! There are so many kids that the enemy is snatching up because those that profess to be the body of Christ are not doing their job. The devil is definitely more active that the church of today is! Well here are the cities that we will be going into. The first will be Wilson, NC. Our wonderful friends and co-laborers in the harvest, Anthony and Maria Bank actually live in Wilson. They have traveled to Durham on many occasions to be involved with us on the streets. These two are people with a real heart for Jesus and the lost. We will be going there to help them get their ministry going. This is not about getting more chapters of Bull City Outreach but it is about helping people get their ministries up and running. We will be glad to just have good fruit ministries in other locations that started with our ministry. We look forward to working with Anthony and Maria in locations where the enemy is working most. The next is Rocky Mount, NC. This too was Anthony and Maria's heart call but it has become mine too. This is a city that some refer to as "Little Durham". Although small, they have had six murders this year. There is a high amount of gang activity. I really look forward to getting started there! This past week I had the pleasure of meeting James Sherrod. He came to our headquarters with another friend. As I explained our wall of those that have been murdered to James the tears started down his cheeks. I could tell that this man had a heart for Jesus! As we walked back toward my desk I began to tell them about the new locations that we were getting ready to work in. I said "Rocky Mount" and James bent over and started sobbing. He sat down in my office chair to gain his composure. Then I was told that this is where he is from and that he had been praying for someone to go into Rocky Mount. He will labor with us there! It was like we had known each other for a long time. We are brothers with "like hearts"! The third location is Jacksonville, NC. This is special because we will be working with Angie's sister, Andrea. Every time we have gone there to visit I have felt a tug on my heart as we pass all the devil's debauchery that plagues this and other military towns. Andrea is a former military wife who has experienced what many military wives go through. She has a real heart for Jesus and helping military wives and husbands to get their lives on track for Jesus! So many times people want to talk to the military people about baseball, hotdogs and apple pie but fail to share the most important thing with them. So many get caught up in the sinful lifestyles that military cities offer then they lose their lives only to find themselves in hell for all eternity. People need to understand that just because a person serves in the military it does not give them a GO TO HEAVEN FREE CARD. If they do not have a personal relationship with Jesus they will not spend eternity with Him. We will be ministering outside the strip joints and popular bars in an attempt to win the lost to Him! Our friends, Anthony and Maria will be teaming up with us sometimes in Jacksonville too. If you are reading this and know of people in these areas that have a heart for doing street ministry we would be interested in talking with them. My goal is to build teams then go back from time to time to work with them. Our primary focus will continue to be in Durham! We are blessed to have had others who have stepped up to handle our headquarters as we go out to help others.

I had a fantastic meeting in the Durham County Jail this past Tuesday evening. After a great one on one meeting I was fired up to minister to others. It has been difficult to get many to attend the services because of changes that have been made. On Tuesday night’s I go where the staff tells me to go so she said that we were going to the 4th floor. I then said to her that if there was a possibility of going to 4D I would like to go there. She said that would be fine because 2 of the 4 had already had church recently. She said to go in and see if there was any interest. 4D has been where many of the heavy offenders are kept. Many that are in for murder are kept there. There was supposed to be only 11 that were walking so I would get however many wanted to come. Last time I was in I only had 3. They started coming in and they kept coming. Evidently the staff had allowed others that were locked back to come so I ended up with 16.
I had several guys that I knew were in for murder. One of the guys came up to me and asked me about talking about him the last time I was on the pod. I did not know who he was although he looked very familiar. He then told me his name and I knew exactly who he was! I had so much wanted to come across him because of his reputation on the streets. He was known to be a wild gun shooter on the streets. He kept a very hard attitude with me but as we progressed we started joking. At one point I asked if I could talk to the group about him. He looked at me funny but gave the ok. I have talked about him many other times but since he was present I thought it proper to get his permission. A couple summers ago we were holding 9 p.m. services on Friday nights in “The Mac” (McDougald Terrace Projects). We were holding the services at that time and place because of the high crime level that was going on. One night there was one of many shootings in the area and there had been a young man shot in the head. Residents had told me of the man’s brain matter being on the parking lot. The shooting had taken place on a Thursday night. On Friday it had rained so the ground was soft and we had to move our location for the service. I ended up preaching right where he had laid after being shot. Everyone said that there was no doubt that he was going to die. I told him and the group that he was alive because the Lord still had a plan for him even though you could tell he still is not ready to surrender. At one point when he was being arrogant I looked him in the eyes and said “I sure hope that I don’t end up putting your name up on our wall. Most of the guys know of the wall at our headquarters with the names of all that have been murdered since we started ministry in Durham. We are over 170 now since January 1, 2009. There were times of near tears for myself and others and there were times of all of us laughing. What really brought the meeting together was when I was talking about being at different murder sites in the city. I would tell the location then for some reason I could not think of the name of the person murdered. A number of times someone said the first name then before anyone else could say the last name I would remember it. So many gave me a look like “he really does know what is going on”. I know that it brought me credibility with them. I praised the Lord that he refreshed my memory time after time. I would say that many if not all in this meeting were gang members. The Lord was really doing something for the future in this meeting! There is one young man that I have met with one on one that is in for murder. I know that his life is changed. He loves Jesus now and says that his life will never be the same. I continue to see him and usually when I am doing groups he sits next to me. He really wants to be part of Bull City Outreach when he gets out. I am very excited about what is going on in the Durham Country Jail! NOTE: I am late getting this out. I started it near two weeks ago and haven’t been able to get back to it until today. Since then the mother and aunt of several of the inmates that I have been working with showed up at our headquarters. She now has a 13 year old son that is on the same track. She wants me to attempt to meet with him. I will be going to his court date later this month. I have also had a tremendous breakthrough with the 21 year old gang member who is known for so much shooting on the streets. I have met with him twice and our meetings have been great! He said he is tired of living the way he has been and that he wants to give back by helping the youth not to follow in his footsteps. This is a guy that is known by the high majority of police officers in Durham! I am very excited about the direction he is beginning to head. I was out on the streets of East Durham until about 2:00 a.m. this morning. I love going out on the streets late at night because nearly everything you come upon is a ministering opportunity. I can park in parking lots and people will come to the van. I can cruise projects and people will flag me down. Holloway Street will always provide ministry opportunities but I love to get out to the other areas that we have ministered for the last six and a half years. I started out last night with going into the Budget Inn Motel to talk with a mother of a woman that is in the Durham County Jail. I was trying to get a plan lined up for when she gets out but it is sad when there is not much interest in seeing her own daughter get her life together. I will continue to try even though mom is not interested. I cruised Holloway Street next to find the streets loaded with cars and people. I had several of the regulars that were hungry so I went to Ghetto Mac (McDonald's) to get 20 McDoubles. I ministered to many with cold drinks and the burgers. Next I was feeling led to go to "The Mac" (McDougald Terrace Projects). I cruised around the projects and as usual on a hot summer night there were many people outside. For many they are outside because of not having air conditioning and their apartments being so hot. Another sad thing that I am used to seeing is many young kids unsupervised wandering around. The kids at the left are just part of a small group that I stopped and got out to talk to. Some of the kids did not know me and it was awesome to have a lady that was passing by tell the kids "you can talk to him because he's good people". I am always saddened to think "why would these kids be outside unattended at 12:30 in the morning"? More times than not it's because the parent or for the few that have parents are getting drunk or high. It was nothing for us a couple years ago when we were holding our Friday night service which started at 9 and ended somewhere around 11 or 12 to have 20 or 30 kids with no parents around. We would escort them back home to find the parents all messed up. All the kids were very excited to get something cold to drink. They were real excited when I got the cross pennies out and began handing them out. I then started talking to them about Jesus. I asked if any of them knew any scriptures and was happy to hear a couple of them recite some. As you can see in the pic to the left that they were really enjoying themselves. The majority of the kids seem to crave attention. The majority of them are really good kids but they just need to have someone show that they care then stick with them. I have had many that have said that they want to help them only to change their minds. What this does is just show that Christians do not keep their word. It is also just another adult telling them something and then not sticking to their word. I had one woman who was on the team years ago for a short time that destroyed a teenage girls life by not keeping her word. We need to develop a team that can walk with these kids back to their apartments and tell whoever is responsible for them that if we were child traffickers they could have possibly never seen the child again. All the kids were awesome. There was one boy who was probably around 6 or 7 that I could tell was already picking up the street hustling mentality. He was trying to get several drinks and also seeing what else he could get. I had to set him straight. Some of the kids were asking me to give one little girl extra pennies because it was her birthday. I started talking to this sweet little one and found that she had just turned 7 years old. Keep in mind that it is past 12:30 in the morning! This little girl was oh so precious! When I got back in the van to get ready to leave she got on the running board and had her little hands holding on. They kept saying "do you have to go"? Look at her little eyes and then think how hard it was for me to leave there! There are so many kids that have two strikes against them coming out of the womb! There chances of having a good life are so slim. We pray that the Lord will send laborers into the harvest! The fields are so ripe but the laborers are so few. Matthew 9:36 Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then He *said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 "Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." I thank the Lord for the opportunity that He has given me to attempt to reach these little ones for Him! I have to keep going so that I can hopefully meet the parent or parents (in many cases the grandmother) so that we can work deeper into their lives. I was just talking with someone today about the fact that the amount of good grandparents today is so small. I have come across so many of them that are either addicted to heroin or crack! We are living in a world on a fast downward spiral. We must reach the lost for Jesus! How can we look into the faces of these little ones and not do something? A huge thank you to all that help this ministry to function through your prayers or financial support! God Bless! Praise the Lord! He is moving! The address that he gave me for his grandmother was not good so I wandered around in the heat trying to get someone to answer the door or find someone outside. Just when I was thinking that I was going to give up a car came down the street. It pulled into a driveway and I started walking toward it. When the woman got out she asked if she could help me. I said “you sure can, I am looking for a Mrs. Jones who lives in this area”. She respond with “you just found her, I’m Mrs. Jones”. I thought “Praise the Lord” then introduced myself and told her that I was working with her grandson. She just so happened to have (I will call him Shawn) his mother on the phone. She immediately put me on speaker phone so that the mother could hear our conversation. She invited me in the house because it was so hot outside. She wrapped up the conversation with the mother then she wanted me to tell her what was going on. As I started to share she burst into tears then left the room. She came back quickly with a notebook which turned out to be her prayer list. She told me that she was a Christian and that she wanted me to see her prayer list and that I was an answer to her prayers. She cried even harder as she pointed out the prayer of “letting the right people cross his path”. She was so full of joy and hope! I told her that I had to take a picture of her prayer list! She shared with me about Shawn and how he had been so good in school and even how he had, had a good job with Duke Hospital. I asked her when the homosexuality had started with Shawn and she said that it began at Southern High School. She shared that there is a large group of homosexuals there and that he had hooked up with the wrong bunch. She said that he had never shown any gay behavior prior. This is proof that homosexuality is a demon spirit and what happened with Shawn was that the spirit jumped on him and he allowed it and welcomed it to live inside him. As you can see, one of her other prayers was for a renewing of Shawn’s mind. Romans 12:2 Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. I ended up spending around an hour with the grandmother and you would have thought that she won a lottery or something because she was so happy! She said that his parents would also be in total agreement to Shawn going and getting help at a solid Christian rehab. I told her of the one that I felt strongly that he should go to and she again started crying. She shared how the family wants the old Shawn back. She is so excited that there is hope. We need your prayers that we will be able to get him in this place. The biggest thing is that I will know without a doubt that he truly wants the help. If he is not all in we will not send him.
If Shawn is in then we will plan a place for the family to see him immediately upon his release from jail then we will put him on a bus for his rehab destination. They will have his clothes and belongings ready. Pray that all this comes together! I had an absolutely incredible time in the Durham County Jail Tuesday night. It started with going to see a homosexual prostitute from Holloway Street who has also been addicted to crack. He screamed a very loud feminine scream when he seen that I was there to visit him. We have had a number of bouts on the streets where he would not be real happy with me and other members of the team. With all the mess that is going on in this country right now about loving the homosexual we do the love thing properly in the eyes of God! We love them enough to tell them the truth! We love them enough to tell them that if they stay in a lifestyle that goes against God’s Word they will end up in hell for all eternity. The last encounter that I had with this “young man” came after he had been told that he could not come into our headquarters because of some behavior that he had displayed. I had told him that he could not come in again for at least a week. He came back in after a little over a week and said “are you still mad at me”? I then proceeded to have him sit down as I went to get him something to drink then I explained to him that myself and the rest of the team care for him. I said we do not want to see you go to hell. Sweat had been running down his face from under his wig. I asked him how many people out on the streets care for him? Tears started to stream down his face. I told him that one day whether it was on this earth, or in heaven or hell that he would know that we were his best friends. We discussed meeting once a week to discuss the Bible. I gave him some things to read at home. The tears continued then when we were done he stood up and hugged me. A short time later he was arrested for prostitution and some failure to appear charges. Please read this to the end to see more of my beautiful conversation with him and where this is headed. I see articles and posts on Facebook of “Christians accepting homosexuality”. No “true Christian” will accept homosexuality. No “true Christian” will go against God’s Word! The Word of God makes it perfectly clear what will happen to the homosexual, they are bound for HELL! 1Corinthians 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 1Timothy 1:8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, Jude 1:7 And don't forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God's judgment. Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the untrustworthy, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those involved with the occult and with drugs, idol-worshippers, and all liars — their destiny is the lake burning with fire and sulfur, the second death." Leviticus 20:13 "If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense. Leviticus 18:22 "Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin. Galatians 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. IMMORAL'ITY, n. Any act or practice which contravenes the divine commands. IMPURE, Unchaste; lewd; unclean; as impure actions. Defiled by sin or guilt; unholy; as persons. SENSUAL'ITY, n. Devotedness o the gratification of the bodily appetites; free indulgence in carnal or sensual pleasures. There are a number of other characteristics of the homosexual lifestyle that are stated in the above verse. Anyone that calls themselves a Christian and sides with homosexuality clearly does not know the Bible. They most assuredly have not read Romans 1. Romans 1:18 But God shows His anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because He has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. 21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship Him as God or even give Him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator Himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. 28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, He abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God's justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. How much more clear could His Word possibly be? Looking deeper into verse 32 will show the danger that people who side with homosexuality are in. How were these people aware that God's justice would require death? All human beings are created in God's image; thus, we have a basic moral nature and a conscience. This truth is understood beyond religious circles. Psychologists, for example, say that the rare person who has no conscience has a serious personality disorder that is extremely difficult to treat. Most people instinctively know when they do wrong—but they may not care. Some people will even risk an early death for the freedom to indulge their desires now. "I know it's wrong, but I really want it," they say; or "I know it's dangerous, but it's worth the risk." For such people, part of the "fun" is going against God's law, the community's moral standards, common sense, or their own sense of right and wrong. But deep down inside they know that sin deserves the punishment of death. (Life Application Study Bible) Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Here is another commentary of Romans 1:29-32 The downward slide gathers speed. With the necessary changes, the above description applies to all kinds of sins. Romans 1:29-31 are the Bible's most comprehensive list of the evils people invent for themselves, and Romans 1:32 shows the state of man in deepest depravity, in which not only do they keep doing these things, but they applaud others who do the same, thus forming a godless society opposing everything God wants from his beloved creation, humanity. Even so, in each one a voice of conscience still protests that it is God's righteous decree that people who do such things deserve to die, as has been the case from the days of Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:17) until now. Thus the "Bad News." (Jewish New Testament Commentary) Could people be so foolish to think that God’s Word says that these people deserve death and that He will let the promoters of homosexuality to live for all eternity with Him? “The christian imposters” will face eternal hell also for having a hand in promoting sin and a godless society. Now these are the things that myself and the rest of the Bull City Outreach Ministries team have ministered to this young man. Think again about his response to seeing me at the jail. He told me of how happy and elated he was to see me. This comes from knowing a true friend. This comes from our team truly showing how much we care! This young man looked into my eyes and said “I really do not want this lifestyle anymore and I don’t want to go back out there”. I asked him if he had ever thought of getting help from a Christian rehab. He was afraid that I was talking about the places in Durham and I assured him that I was not. People on the streets have a very poor opinion of the “Christian places” for help in Durham. It is sad that Christ has been so poorly represented by the high majority of places in Durham. I discussed some other options with him. I knew that he had been living with his grandmother and I asked him if he wanted me to stop by and talk with her about this. A big smile came over his face and he said that he would really like me to go and see her. I will be doing that today! We had a great conversation then when we concluded we stood up and he hugged me and I hugged him with the love of Jesus! He thanked me over and over for coming to see him. He told me that no one else had visited him. I received a call from the jail and another inmate in that pod must have been watching because he asked if I could come to see him. (The cell block is where homosexuals and others that must be kept separate from the rest of the population are kept.) I will be seeing him this week. We are believing for this young man to be transformed! Please pray for him and for all those that are deceived out there that think that homosexuality is to be accepted. I repeat in closing that WE MUST LOVE THE HOMOSEXUAL ENOUGH TO TELL THEM THE TRUTH! I will post an update soon. Another post from the jail coming soon! |
