OUR TOUGHEST DAY: PRAISING HIM IN THE STORM!

I believe that sometimes when people are going through difficult challenges in life they think they are the only one that goes through difficult things. The Bible is clear that in this life we will have trials and tribulation.

John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."

Romans 5:3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.

When it is you that is going through difficult times these verses can be very hard to digest. I know that when I lost my wife of 28 years it was difficult but it was Jesus who brought me through it and in the trials and tribulation He indeed made me stronger!

This morning Angie and I woke up to what was going to be one of the best days of our three wonderful years together. We were on top of the world because we were going for our first doctor’s appointment to see our baby in the womb! We were so happy and excited! We laughed, giggled and cracked jokes. It seemed like life could not get much better for us. Never did we think that in a short time we would be off that mountain high experience and in mourning.

When we arrived at the doctor’s office they had not opened yet. We were early and excited! We looked at the flowers and were just bursting with happiness. They opened, got us checked in, and soon called us back. I just knew this was going to be so awesome! The technician started the ultrasound by explaining the different things we were looking at. When she got to our baby I knew that it was the baby but she kept moving all around so then I wasn’t quite sure. I then asked her if that was not the baby and with the look that was on her face I knew right away that we were going to be receiving bad news. She then said there was no heartbeat. Angie and I were crushed! The woman was a solid Christian and she started to comfort us using a great deal of scripture. She prayed over us while Christian music played in the background. We knew that the Lord had her there for us.

We were led into another room where a midwife explained our options. Angie and I then left in shock. I knew for sure that we were going to have a healthy baby. Angie had been doing all the right things and studying to know what was going on inside of her. We have no idea why things turned out this way, but, we do know that Jesus will never leave us or forsake us. We know that we must stay strong in Him and let Him guide us through this.

We are putting out our story so maybe this can be helpful to someone else going through difficult times. Maybe someone else will know someone that is going through the same thing and they can say “hey, I know a couple that you need to talk to that went through what you are going through.” We pray that through our trials we will be able to help someone else. Angie and I ask that you please pray for us, for privacy and no visitors right now. She is planning to deliver naturally so we don’t know when this will occur. God Bless!

ARE THE WORDS THAT COME FROM YOUR MOUTH PLEASING TO THE LORD?

This is not for those that do not profess to be Christians. This is for those that occupy the pulpits and pews of the churches of this country every Sunday morning. This is for those that evidentially have never read the following verses…..

1John 2:6 Whoever says he abides in Him ought [as a personal debt] to walk and conduct himself in the same way in which He walked and conducted Himself.

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

I seem to be coming across the path of more and more professing Christians that seem to think it is okay to speak inappropriately. Many think that the profanity that spews from their mouths is not bad because it is “mild profanity”. In the Lord’s eyes (and ears) profanity is profanity! If we are truly “in Christ” we will not be allowing filth to depart from our lips.

Psalms 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to You, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

This verse should be enough to make us think about what comes from our mouths. I guarantee that much of what is coming from the mouths of many people occupying the pulpits and pews of the churches is not “pleasing the Lord”.

Matthew 15:11 It's not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth."

Probably at the top of what I cannot stand to hear is how the word “Holy” is trashed! This word should not be used in conjunction with any word that is not tied in with our Holy Father. If we look at the definition of the word then it should show us why it is such an abomination to use it the way it is used in this country.

HO'LY, - dedicated or consecrated to God

The Hebrew word for Holy is “qodesh” which means “set-apartness”, “separateness”, “sacredness”

Some synonyms for Holy would be “set apart”, “consecrated”, “sacred”, “hallowed”, “revered”, “divine”, “blessed”, and “dedicated”.

I could go much deeper into the meaning but this should be enough to see that the way many use the word is so wrong. Some examples are “holy cow”. A place that you would find the cow being called holy would be for those who follow the false religion of Hinduism. One place that it was made famous in this country was by a baseball announcer who used the phrase often. Being tied into sports makes many things permissible in this country. Another place it was misused and made so popular was in the Batman series.

Some other pitiful examples of its misuse in this country are holy s**t, holy c**p, (It would be no one other than the devil that would tie the word in with defecation). I heard my oldest granddaughter say “holy guacamole”??? I immediately sat her down and talked to her about the meaning of the word. My granddaughter loves Jesus but like many she repeated what she heard someone else say. We must place guards at our ear gates to now allow the enemy to come in! There are many other misuses that people come up with.

Proverbs 16:23 The mind of the wise instructs his mouth, and adds learning and persuasiveness to his lips.

If the churches of this country did a better job of teaching on Holiness we would not be hearing so much misuse. Many churches do not want to teach on Holiness because it will affect their numbers. In this country people want to be “church goers” but they also do not want to give up the world’s ways. They want to be able to serve two masters and there are plenty of false churches in this country that will allow them to do so. There will be masses of people that lift their eye lids one day to find themselves in a place called HELL because they did not want to live their lives according to the Word of God!

Hebrews 12:14 Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and Holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.

Another word that many “professing christians” use ties in with urination. Example: that “p****d me off”. I know that some are thinking “now that really isn’t that bad of a word”. Do you really think that Jesus would talk like that?

The word “sucks” is very popular with “professing christians” today in this country. Even though it has ties with oral sex it does not stop people from saying it. Some would say that not all ties are to oral sex but even if one example is that way shouldn’t it be enough to not say the word?

Ephesians 4:29 Don't use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

Here is another area that is common for “professing christians”, which come from the “F” family. “Fricken” and “friggin” are relatives of the awful word “F**K”. I was doing some research and came upon the Urban Dictionary which gave an interesting description of the alternative words. It said “an alternative for those of us too classy to use the word "f*****g”.

Proverbs 15:2 The tongue of the wise makes knowledge appealing, but the mouth of a fool belches out foolishness.

Too often “professing Christians” compare themselves to other professing Christians instead of comparing themselves to what the Word of God says. So many people in this country will “church shop” until they can find one where they can be comfortable in their sinful life. It is not hard to find a so called church today that will tolerate whatever type of sin one practices.

Ephesians 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.

A “true Christian” will not speak like the world speaks. A “true Christian” will strive daily to be more like Jesus. There are many out there who profess to be Christians that need to cleanse their heart before it is too late.

Matthew 12:34 You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good man from his inner good treasure flings forth good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse flings forth evil things. 36 But I tell you, on the Day of Judgment men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak. 37 For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.

I pray that people will wake up and live a life that glorifies Christ Jesus. So many “professing christians” are headed straight for eternal hell. True Christians must take a stand against all unrighteousness! People will get mad at you on this earth for telling them the truth but wouldn’t that be better than knowing that you could have kept someone from eternal hell and you failed to warn them?

THE THIEF COMES TO STEAL, KILL AND DESTROY....BUT!

John 10:10 The thief comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, life in its fullest measure.

This morning I had a woman that I have known for a long time come in. I told her to take a seat in the waiting room. (chairs out front) because we were already extremely busy. You could kind of look at this whole thing like a doctor's office. The people are coming spiritually sick and they need to see a doctor. It also has had the feeling of "the harvest is ripe but the laborers are few". We are in need of more doctors to see the people! It still is an awesome feeling to go from one to the next. This has been the most grueling ministry in the whole time I have been involved. It is that way because you start in the morning then do not end till early morning the next day. There seriously is not much down time at all. I had two hours of sleep last night but I have been able to go strong all day. I am praying for a time to lay down this afternoon before things get crazy tonight but I know if not the Lord will keep me strong.

The picture is not her but it reminds me much of her. It shows how the demon drug of crack can age and destroy a person. She has been a prostitute on Holloway Street for a long time. I had not seen her out here for a long time. The last time I saw her was when she came in with her husband for counseling. This woman had even prostituted with her daughter as a team. I have also worked extensively with her daughter.

She wanted to tell me about how good her daughter is doing but I already know that the daughter has just transferred her sin from prostituting to having a sugar daddy who she provides with sex. People are deceived into thinking if they are not doing the same sin then they are "doing better" and are no longer in danger of eternal hell.

This woman was doing much better but now with going back to crack she has wiped out her and her husbands bank account. They have a device on their car where they have to type a code in when they make their payment in order for the car to continue to operate. They have not been able to make their payment so they can not move the car now.

Her husband is on dialysis and has a part time job so they have the huge challenge of figuring out how to work this out. They have been married for over 30 years. She went back to prostituting early this morning in an attempt to get the money so that her husband would not be mad at her. She had already been drinking before 9:00 a.m. this morning. I explained to her how she was continuing to follow the devil's plan for her life. I had her in a good church but she hadn't been there for the last few weeks.

I told her that it was going to take a complete surrender to the Lord to turn this situation around. I explained to her that what she was experiencing was "the fruit of her sin". I told her that when she walked out the door that she would have a decision to make as to who she was going to follow. I told her that the plan she has chosen up to now has not worked well for her who is now 53 years old. She told me that she was going to go back home. I gave her a daily devotional and an assignment out of the Book of James. She is also going to return to church this Sunday. She will be checking in with me on a regular basis. She has not been back on the streets since this morning. Pray for "M".

Day 5 is soon coming to a close with 2 more days to go. A day actually feels like a week! We praise the Lord for all that are praying for us and helping us in other ways! God Bless!

AWESOME!

It is absolutely amazing what the Lord is doing at our Headquarters this week. We are coming to the end of day 4 and we have ministered to so many people. There is very little time that goes by that one or all of us are ministering to someone. We are seeing people weeping knowing that they must get their lives together with Jesus.

At the left is LeRoy who came to us for prayer early in the week. He is 61 years old and said that he has not been able to find anyone that would hire him. We helped him with a bus pass to get him to the interview. This was after several of us praying and believing with Him that he was going to get this job! LeRoy came in on Wednesday with a huge smile on his face. Leroy was PRAISE THE ONE that can make all things happen! LeRoy kept praising Jesus with hugs and high fives for us! As I take this picture he is praising JESUS for everything! What a blessing this was! Not only did he get a job but another man named Randy also came thanking us for praying with him. Absolutely amazing times!

Last night was a time of the wall ministering to so many people! We had the best friend of the 17 year old that was stabbed to death recently. She was so broken and open to be ministered to as she looked at her friends name. We had a daughter looking up at her fathers name while her husband stood outside refusing to come in and look. The reason he would not come in was that his mother was the one who killed his wife's father. We had person after person come in as the word on the street spread about the wall. I really do not know where all these people are coming from? I really do know that the Lord is sending them! There could not be any other way!

This lady points to the Father of her 11 year old daughter. (Demario Carr) Frank ministered to her for over 30 minutes before I was able to get over to meet her. She wept as she told us how broken she was that her daughter would never know her daddy. I was able to tell her all about that night that was the result of a mobile rival gang shootout on Highway 147. I was able to tell her about ministering to a group in the jail and telling Demario's story when an inmate started telling the details. He was the driver of the vehicle! She will be bringing her daughter to the outreach on Saturday so that she can show her, her daddy's name. Frank was moves to tears by this time of ministering into her life.

There was another situation where one of the homosexual female impersonator prostitutes came in yesterday. He is 22 years old. His question to Vinny and I was "how would he know for sure if he was going to heaven or hell"? Vinny and my thought....I'm glad that you asked"! We ministered to him for at least 30 minutes. When we finished he definitely knew where he would be spending eternity if he did not repent and he also knew very clear that he had two friends that cared for him and that will be praying for him.

There was another person that stopped by (I will call him Joe) who had passed by on Tuesday. Joe was dealing with some real challenges in his life. He is also involved in a church. He felt the presence of the Holy Spirit telling him to stop but he did not. At 2:00 in the morning he woke up with a thought to go back to where "the Rabbi" was. He had actually seen Frank (Messianic Jew) out front with his sackcloth on and his shofar. Joe came back and I was actually supposed to be his appointment. He shared that he was struggling with pornography. I was able to share some related things that I was delivered from. I ministered to him for over an hour. He was very broken and felt like he was the scum of the earth. He told me that his wife knew nothing of his addiction. I told him that I would partner up with him to defeat this attack of the enemy! He was so relieved and happy when he departed. He told me that I would be seeing him often. Hours later I saw him in the doorway again and I went to greet him. He had actually went back to Cary where he lives and confessed to his wife. He then told his wife that he wanted her to meet me. His wife and daughters came in and we had a great time in the Lord.

Frank prays over a young lady that saw her best friend's name on the wall. This young lady was so hurt and her heart was so open to receive the Word of God.

I have tried all day to get this much done. I will include other things that have happened in my next post. We thank all that have prayed for this Marathon Ministry Fundraiser! This has been so much more than I could have ever thought it would be. Everyone else that has participated would say the same. So many lives have been touched for Jesus! THE LORD IS MOVING IN A BIG WAY!

We are having an awesome time in Christ Jesus during our Marathon Ministry Week Fundraiser! We have ministered to somewhere around 100 people in a one on one or small group setting. It has been amazing to see the Lord answer our prayer in seeing people broken and with a repentant heart. For many it was like the Lord stopped them and their feet never moved. It was like they were frozen to listen to His Word and what life with Him could do for them. We are having many that are returning over and over!

We had a guy that pulled in just off the street and he jumped out of his van then came up and started to talk to Frank and I. We had just finished prayer and had talked about several things. This guy named Thomas started speaking everything that we had just prayed or talked about. It was like he had been hiding in the room listening to us. No doubt this was the Lord! Thomas had never stopped before. No doubt that the Lord had a call on his life. He also shared what he was struggling with and asked us for prayer.

We just had a 19 year old MS13 gang member come in. He had just got out of jail. Frank and David ministered to him then brought him for me to talk to him. I could instantly tell that he was not serious about giving his life to the Lord. We told him that we hope that he gets serious and turns to Jesus before ending up on our wall.

Angie and I ministered to a woman named Sarah who was a new prostitute on Holloway. She had been beat up by her pimp. She too acted like she wanted help but was not at the end of herself. I talked to her again and told her that the Lord was knocking at her door but she failed to answer. I told her that I pray she opens the door to him before it is too late.

Jeremy & Keasia walked down the sidewalk Sunday night and what a time of ministry we had with them! Jeremy said that he knew me from the Durham County Jail. Jeremy ended up going to Federal Prison for gun trafficking. He has a huge scar on his forehead from wear he was shot off of a motorcycle. I asked if they were living their lives for Jesus. They shared that she was pregnant at 21. They sat down and we ministered to them for around 45 minutes. We talked to them about the importance of having Christ in the center of their marriage and to bring their children up in the Lord. I shared with Jeremy that all he has been to this point is a male. I told him that it takes a man to be a husband and a dad. They were so happy when they walked off saying that they wanted my help and would be back. Praise the Lord!

Oscar is from Honduras and lives right around the corner. I have watched him change for the better. He was such a extreme alcoholic. He still drinks but nothing like he was doing. He stops in often and spends time with me. I communicate the best I can with his broken English and my little bit of Spanish. He is holding a Bible that is for his new friend, Maria! Oscar recently started joining into prayer and he will shout out hallelujah! He will get the biggest smile on his face then he always has to shake my hand. He wears a Jesus hat now because his old one was a beer hat. I hooked him up then threw his in the trash. We are believing for him to be completely set free of alcohol.

It is awesome to have Darlene Seger walking the neighborhood every morning to prepare the grounds. Darlene walks the neighborhood without fear because she knows who walks with her. She is a real blessing to the ministry!

Frank has been hard at it. He ministers to person after person. He is having a great time in the Lord!

The woman with the hat was in on Monday night. She has 5 kids with three "baby-daddies". Two of the three of them are on our wall (murdered). She brought her friend who also has a boyfriend on the wall. Jericho and I ministered the Word to them. One of them has a false security that she was saved because of repeating a prayer when she didn't want to. She repeated the prayer to get the person to go away but she still thought that because she prayed the prayer that she was still saved. I showed her according to scripture that she is not saved. Both of them left knowing if they were to die that they would go to hell. We prayed with them and told them that they pray that they will make a decision to follow Jesus before it is too late. We talked about the lifestyle of the three that were murdered and they said that the guys were most likely in hell. I told them that they still have breath but the others don't meaning that it is not too late. I told them if the guys could come back that they would not live the same lifestyle they lived before. If they could come back they would not be "baby-daddies", they would strive to be men of God. Both of them said with a smile that they would be back tonight!

There has been so much more ministry. So many awesome stories of God moving! We look forward to what he is going to do in the next 5 days. We appreciate all of you that have helped or plan to help in the many areas that we are believing for. God Bless you!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are believing for many things to be accomplished during our 1st annual Marathon Ministry Week Fundraiser. We are seeing so many awesome things happening down her at 1512 Holloway Street in East Durham! We have led well over 100 people to the Lord in less than three complete days! We have led them right to the cross and now they have a decision to make as if they are going to live for Him.

We have had some people return over and over! One 22 year old homosexual prostitute asked yesterday how he will know whether he will go to heaven or hell. Vinny and I ministered to him for at least 30 minutes! Another homosexual prostitute told Frank this morning that he knows that he must get out of the lifestyle! Lives are being transformed people and it can all begin with a simple bottle of water! Praise the Lord!!!

Every one of the basics that we need to keep supplied in our headquarters we consider "seeds". Every bottle of water, every soda, every piece of candy, bag of chips, fast food card, etc. is used as a seed to minister into people's lives. For us to go and buy all these items gets very expensive. If we can get partners to grab something when they are at the store it helps us tremendously. A case of water many times can be picked up for $3 but those 24 bottles can go out to 24 people that are needing Jesus in their lives.

The items pictured are the items that we go through the most of.

Many do not know but to a drug addict with their drug sweets become the next best thing. We have had heroin addicted prostitutes stuff candy and other things that we have in their purse. For most addicted prostitutes that I know they will use every bit of the drugs they have before they ever go to sleep so they wake up and head for one of the convenience stores. When we are open they will come to us because they know they can get it free. (they will need a scripture or to read one off the wall) This is why we keep a large amount on hand at all times.

Another purpose for this is for the kids! We have many stop in and this gives us a chance to minister to them. We are keeping freeze pops in the freezer for the hot days that we have coming up.

We have two months of the rent covered and are still believing for 10 others churches, businesses or individuals to partner with us to cover our $600/month rent for our headquarters. This is an area that we will believe to get covered every year when we do this event.

We are believing for monthly financial partners also. We thank the Lord for those that we have already that support us by prayer and financial support. MARATHON MINISTRY WEEK FUNDRAISER BEGINS TODAY!

Today begins our Marathon Ministry Week Fundraiser. This morning has been a time of tears, rejoicing, seeking the Lord and seeing the faces of so many that we work with. Satan is attempting to destroy all of them! We are believing for a breakthrough and the Lord is going to do big things over the course of the next week. We need your prayers and support!

Much more than funds, your prayers are so important! We want to see lives transformed! We are wanting to see people get set free! Of course we need funds to operate, but the Lord has and always will take care of that.

We need more monthly prayer partners to team up with us. We cannot do what we do without the Lord touching people's hearts to assist.

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

The Lord laid it on our hearts to make this marathon a fundraising event. We need churches, businesses or individuals that will assist us in getting our rent covered for the year. Praise the Lord we have two months already pledged! Even if the $600/month is not something that you can do individually, we ask that you prayerfully consider helping us by speaking to your pastor, a local business or anyone that could possibly assist us.

We also need supplies stocked at BCOM HQ this week: canned sodas, bottled water, individual bags of chips, candy, fast food gift cards, frozen dinners, personal hygiene items. We use these things to open doors and plant seeds, not to enable. This is what the Word of God says about helping with this.....

Proverbs 19:17 If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD—and He will repay you!

We are believing this to be a transforming week for us. We do not want to just "do ministry". We want to see the Lord move in mighty ways so we must draw closer to Him! Angie and I want to see this week take us to another level with JESUS CHRIST!
