Other Things Happening in The Bull City.....

Here are some other things that have been going on and some things that will break your heart.....

Yesterday day while ministering in the jail I was asked by a woman named "K" if I would talk to and pray with her. I told her that I would get to her as soon as I could. When she came in I asked her name and then told her to tell me what was going on with her. She asked if she could tell me some of her life story. I told by all means and to go ahead.

Picture
"K" told me of the first time that she was shot up with heroin. The person operating the syringe was her own dad! She cried as she told me this. She told me of many other awful things that took place. She told me that she wanted to get her life right with Jesus. She told me how Donna has been ministering to her! Donna has gone from being one of the worst to ministering the GOspel to people in just a couple months! AWESOME! I told "K" that I will also help her get her life together. She cried tears of hurt and joy the whole time I talked to her.

I met with another very angry female last week. I was asked to go and see her because she raised havoc all the time. I hit it off with "E". She told me how at the age of 13 her older sister who was raising her sold her to her sugar daddy. He started having sex with her and abusing her. She said she has never had anyone that she could trust in her whole life! I told her that she could trust me and I would help her get  her life right with Jesus!

I spent alot of time last week with one of the hardcore prostitutes on Holloway Street. I talked to her a great deal of hell because that is what she wanted to talk about. As we got into it she asked me to quit talking about hell because it was scaring her. She has not made a decision to change her life but I am seeing and hearing things that make me think it won't be long. She told me about being at a convenience store where a guy kept taking the Lord's name in vain. She spoke up to the guy and said "don't you realize that if you talk like that you are going to burn in hell"? She smiled at me and said "he completely changed to way he was talking". How I hope Emily wakes up before it is too late!

I had a packed out room on cell block 3D last night! I ministered to them on Holiness referring to 1Peter 1:14-16 and Hebrews 12:14. I ministered hard to them on what it really takes to be a Christian. The guys were so thankful for me coming in and ministering the uncompromised truth to them!

Donna continues to be on fire for JESUS! She ministers to everyone she can and she counts it all joy that the Lord has her where she is for now. She so bad wants to go and get the help she needs so she can return and be part of our team!

Our new place is really effective in reaching out to the lost! So many continue to walk in on a daily basis! We are going to get some different teaching and other things started soon.

We still are attempting to get monthly ministry partners. We have had many that said they were going to help but have dropped off for one reason or another. We need McDonald's, Hardee's, Subway gift cards. We need chips, candy, soda and water. We go through large quantities of these items daily! It is all "bait" to be able to minister the Word of God into their lives. We so much appreciate all of you that keep us lifted in prayer and help financially! You are such a blessing in assisting us to reach the lost!

You can donate by sending your tax deductible check made out to Bull City Outreach or BCOM to 5114 Huxey Glen Ct. Durham, NC. 27703 or you can go to our website www.bullcityoutreach.org then click on the donate button to use PayPal. Other items can be dropped off at the above address or at 1512 Holloway Street. Please call us first at 919.900.0220

Thank you & God Bless!

CARMELITA IS IN THE PROGRESS OF GETTING THE HELP SHE NEEDS!

Picture
We have been ministering to Carmelita for close to five years. Carmelita was the wife of a pastor at the time this picture was taken somewhere around five years ago. Eileen ministered to her and we ended up calling her husband that day. He came down and we talked with the two of them and they drove off together. A tough thing for a man to come and pick up his crack addicted wife who has been prostituting herself then forgiving her and taking her back home.

Picture
Eileen prays with Carmelita. It wasn't long till she returned to the streets. Her husband started getting involved with prostitutes and the marriage fell apart, the pastor fell apart and of course the church fell apart! The devil got his wish to "steal, kill and destroy!

Picture
Carmelita and I have been friends over the years. She has said time and again that she was going to get help to no avail. She has landed in jail a number of times. The devil has worked her over with so many demons! She had the demon spirit of homosexuality on her in the jail. She knows the Bible better than most people in the church. I told her several times that the devil knows what she knows and more so don't think that is going to help you in the mindset you are in!

Carmelita has really put her body through some stuff! She has aged and the drugs have put her to nearly skin and bones.

Picture
Now Carmelita has pursued me in trying to get the help process going. I have been hard on her and have not made this convenient for her. Her assignment was to fill out this application then return it at 10:00 a.m. in the morning. At that time we will submit it to see if there is a bed available.

She will be put on a bus when a bed is available for Winston-Salem. From there she will be taken to an "in between farm house" in East Bend, NC. There she will be given access to many rehabs while getting the Word of God daily! She will be able to pick the rehab that she wants to go to. She must apply and be accepted then they make travel arrangements for her to get there.

Carmelita is one that we would not mind if she came back once her life is on track to serve on our team. She could be very effective in reaching the lost people of Holloway if she will only change teams once and for all! Please pray for her!

SPIRITUAL WARFARE TODAY FOR SANDY'S SOUL!

This morning I got off to what I thought was a rough start. It started by getting to the place where I was going to get ice and finding that I had left my keys at home. I went home on a tight schedule and grabbed the keys then went back to get the ice. I filled up the coolers then headed for my next appointment at the jail. I got to the jail to discover that I had left the keys in the door back while getting ice. I immediately was concerned about the building being unlocked so I called someone who I know that lives very close and he went and locked up and took my keys to his house. As I finished the call I put my phone on the seat then not thinking locked the door and closed it. Now I was locked out of the van. I went into my meeting then afterwards for some reason I could not think of Angie's number (because of always using speed dialer) to have her come and unlock it. I ended up getting a coat hanger and I got into the van. All this time I was thinking that I had another appointment in a little less than an hour. I wasn't sure why I headed for headquarters but I did. The timing of what lied ahead was incredible. When I pulled up I saw a female who I did not know using our window as a mirror. When I got out she started toward me and I asked if she was new in the area. She said that she was just from another area of Durham. She said that she knew of me because Donna had ministered to her and told her about me while she was in jail just last week. I minister that area also so I was really surprised that I never run across her as she worked the streets. She said that she was extremely hungry and thirsty so I invited her to step inside.
Picture
Sandy was a complete mess! She was extremely high on heroin. She started telling me her story. This lady was a pharmacist with CVS and had a degree in cosmetology. Everything fell apart for her one late night when she was getting off work. She went out to her vehicle and it would not start. She called her mother her was babysitting her baby and asked her to come and pick her up. Her mother told her that her and the baby were sleeping. Her mother told her to call another family member. Sandy begged her mom to come. Her mom got up and got the baby into the car seat then headed for Sandy's work never to arrive there. She was involved in an accident that killed her and the baby. Sandy started on synthetic heroin pills then went from there to shooting up heroin.

Picture
She cried and cried as she told me her story. She had two more kids which she also lost and has no idea where they are at. They are 12 and 18. She pleaded with me to help her. She said that she was tired of turning tricks, getting high and sleeping in the streets.

I explained to Sandy that I had another appointment that I had to get to then I would be back at 2:00. I explained to her the process that we were going to take which first would be going to the Emergency Room then they would give a referral to a detox center. Once that was completed I told her that I would get her into a solid Christian rehab program for one year. She was in total agreement to start the process. I explained to her that once I left the devil would immediately start filling her head with ideas of why she shouldn't get the help she needs.

Picture
As I pulled up to headquarters at 1:50 she was sitting near by. I got out and walked up to her with something for her to drink. I asked her if she was ready to go and she started making excuses. We talked for over a half hour. The devil was filling her head with lies and she was listening to him. I told her that the drugs and the streets were more important than her children that she said she wanted to get right then find them. She cried hard as the battle went on in her mind.

I told her that I had other people that I had to get to. She begged me to help her in two days. I asked her if she had any idea how many times I had heard that? I told her of the six prostitutes that I have known and talked to just like her that are no longer living (5 murdered and one overdosed). I told Sandy that the difference was that she still was breathing and could make the right decision. She remains out there tonight thinking that two days are going to make a difference. How deceived she is! I was with her long enough to really care for her and it was sickening to see her decline the help. I explained everything that had happened to me and the fact that the timing of her being at the building and me showing up when she was standing there. She wept again as I told her that the Lord loved her and was reaching out to her. I ask that you join me in praying that Sandy will make the right decision to get the help she so drastically needs!

RADICAL CHANGE IN A LIFE FOR JESUS!

Donna is someone that I have ministered to several times and I knew that there was so much potential in her! This woman actually looks so much younger than she does in the picture since she gave her life to JESUS! I am so excited for her and the letter speaks for itself! SHE IS ON FIRE FOR JESUS!!!

Donna had lost everything in her life including her children due to extreme drug addiction. To see her today you would think that in the world's eyes that she had won the lottery! What she has it so much more than that! She know declares JESUS as her LORD AND SAVIOR!!! When Donna has completed what she has to do for her charges she has agreed to go to rehab for a year. Upon the completion of her program she wants to come back and work with prostitutes on the Bull City Team!

Elijah Heading Off For A New Life Tomorrow!

5/20/2014

Picture
This picture was Elijah yesterday after coming to our headquarters. I have ministered to him a number of times in the past. Yesterday he came in and said he "was tired". Elijah had worn the same clothes for at least a week that he is wearing in the picture. The smell was just about unbearable that came off of him. He looked at me and said "Pastor, I know that you smell me and I am sorry". I just said "that's alright" and continued talking to him. It was hard with the smell but I just kept thinking "what would Jesus do" and I knew that Jesus would love him regardless of the circumstances. He said "all I want to do is get clean". He said "I want to wash my body and clean up the inside of me too"! I have waited for this day to come as I do for so many out there.

Yesterday Elijah was wearing everything he owned. In the bag he is carrying was a pair of shorts, underwear, socks, 2 shirts, and a new pair of tennis shoes. The shoes he was wearing hurt his feet so bad that he limped in pain. I took him across the street to get his hair cut this morning. He said that he had not had a haircut in a barber shop since his grandfather would take him when he was a little boy. We put him up in The Budget Inn last night then again for another night just a short time ago. Elijah had not slept in a bed since December 15th when he was released from prison. No wonder it was hard waking him up this morning!

Picture
Now here is Elijah all showered and cleaned up. He has been sleeping outside and wherever he could lay his head. He wears the rag on his head here because of being ashamed of what his hair looked like. He is pointing to the name which is setting him free! The bag in his hand contains two foot long steak sandwiches from Subway. That is what he really wanted! I told him to get whatever foot long he wanted and I heard that still small voice say "get him two". He ate both of them before going to bed last night and was hungry this morning!

Picture
This is Elijah after his haircut. He kept saying "I feel so good"! He is very polite. His world fell apart after his mother died. The only time he has ever been outside of Durham is when he went to prison for some theft charges. I have been working on the place in Memphis since last night and just as we were getting ready to send him all the beds filled up. They said they would get him in by Monday at the latest but in Durham you can not let someone sit around in this mess.

Now I may be sending him to join Josh in Indiana. I was so blessed to find out that Josh is in Montana on a mission trip to an Indian reservation with the rest of the home that he is in. Josh Lennox ministering to the Indians of Montana! Who would of thought that? I am so happy for him! We will make a decision in the morning where to send Elijah.

Picture
Does the hat look familiar Roland Leary? Elijah has heard over and over that JESUS is the only one that is going to be able to get him on the right track. He is excited and scared at the same time for the change that is coming in his life.

I ask you to join me in praying that Elijah will get his life on track. If you can zoom in you can see that he has hazel eyes. He is a good looking young man. He has so much of the world in him that needs to be removed but that will come. I have already removed a couple layers! It has been very funny hanging out with him out front of our headquarters because people that know him just start cracking up laughing because there is such a change in him. I have laughed alot today!

He threw the other clothes away that he had. I do not know if they make a cleaner that would have removed the funk that was in them. I would like to be able to get him a couple more pair of shorts before he leaves town.  What I listed above was his entire wardrobe. If we send him to Indiana we will not have to pay as much for the bus. I believe it will be around $225. We could use some help with this if the Lord lays in on your heart to help! A huge thank you to the Fuller's in Amarillo for picking up the cost of the room for tonight.

You can donate by going to our website www.bullcityoutreach.org and clicking on the donate button or you can send your tax deductible check made out to Bull City Outreach or BCOM to 5114 Huxey Glen Ct. I must once again apologize for not being able to get all the awesome things that are going on in this ministry out to all of you. I again tell you that I am working on a better plan to get more efficient in this area. Please pray for leaders to come into this ministry! We need help and I know that the Lord knows that also. The harvest is so very ripe but the laborers are so very few!

The new headquarter is so awesome! It get extremely busy and I will give you a picture of that with what took place yesterday. Here is what my day looked like......

Up early and in the Word preparing for the day. Pray with Angie before she goes to work. Out the door at 9:00 heading for Court to support one of the inmates at the jail that I have been working with for over a year. Arrived there to find that I was 30 minutes early. I ended up ministering to four people that knew me from different situations on the streets. I ministered to them until court started. One was a mother who had asked me before to please go to the jail and tell her son that she loved him. I sat in court only to find that they were not going to make to it to who I was there for so at 10:45 I took off so that I could make it back to headquarters for an 11:00 meeting with a mother and son that is addicted and in need of rehabilitation. They do not show up because of some confusion which ended up being a blessing. I knew I was on the

At 11:15 a prostitute named Holy who I have known for several years comes in. Holly is in a different frame of mind that I have seen before. She has a backpack on and told me that she had, had a fight with her boyfriend and was now homeless. She said "do you have time to talk to me". I said "I sure do". She then said "I am 31 and have nothing other than my kids". Holly has three kids that are heading for disaster if they do not get some positive changes in their lives! Angie and I have had the kids with us at time and have taken them swimming and other fun things. Holly finally told me that she needed help. We started looking at different options of rehab. Holly has shot heroin into her arms for years. Her and her sister were out on the streets in their early teens in Philadelphia. Holly has not been shooting up lately because she started going to a methadone clinic. Her biggest fear in going to rehab is being "dope sick" coming off the methadone. I asked her if the sickness would be worth getting her life straight. We are supposed to get together today to discuss this further. I believe that if she isn't ready, she is getting very close to being sick and tired of being sick and tired! Derrick had also showed up while talking with Holly. He wanted something to drink and when I asked him for a verse he said that he did not have one. Cut him some slack and gave him a Bible and told him "no more of anything unless you come with a memorized verse".

12:30 - A meeting with some help! Praise the Lord for Alyssa! She is a new member of our team starting today! While we are meeting a prostitute named Carolyn comes in wanting something to drink and some candy. I told her that she needed a scripture and she immediately said "Jesus wept". (John 11:35) I let her off the hook with that one even though she did not know where it was at in the Bible. I then told her that she could not use that scripture again. I try my best to stay focused with who I am meeting with. At times I have to lock the door but with Alyssa I wanted her to also see how things roll down there. I met with her for around an hour and she has a heart for this kind of ministry!

While talking with Alyssa I notice a guy named Elijah standing in front of the window trying to get my attention. I signaled to him to wait. This goes on often that there are so many people wanting to talk that you are distracted from what is going on but that I am sure is just the way it is going to be in that area. After Alyssa and I finished I went outside to find 27 year old Elijah sitting on the steps. I told him to come in and as soon as he walked in a near nauseating odor filled the room. It smelled just like he had messed his pants days ago. I felt so sorry for him at that point and felt such compassion. He looked into my eyes and said "I know that you smell how bad I stink and I am sorry". I always try to think of how Jesus handled these type of situations. I know he continued to show love. This gets very detailed so I will do a separate post to let you know how awesome this turned out!

Check my text and messages to find another woman contacting me and asking for help to get off of drugs. By now it is around 2:45 and I am dealing with some things with Elijah that I will explain in another post. I have a 3:00 appointment scheduled which also does not show up. I headed back to deal with Elijah then took off to take care of some personal business. I get back to headquarters at 5:30 and a prostitute named Jessica comes in for a drink and short conversation. She leaves and a prostitute named Heidi comes in for the same.

They leave and a prostitute I will call "Q" comes in. She had never came in before and in the several years I have known her we have only had very short conversations. Usually she would not even walk on the same side of the street because she wanted nothing to do with Jesus!
I knew that she was young and I wanted to know at what age she started prostituting on the streets. When I asked her she answered "15"! I immediately though of my thirteen year old granddaughter and thought "only two years older than her and walking the streets as a prostitute"??? Tears streamed down her face as she said "I need help and I have no one". I handed her tissues and she continued to weep and tell me her story. She is heroin addicted and is put down by all her family including her mother. This poor child has never had a chance to even try to get her life right! I was broken as she poured out to me. This is so awful to know that people have to live like this!!! Q was a younger version of the prostitute that was murdered a couple weeks ago. Q walks the streets of East Durham fearing that she is going to be the next one killed! She finally asked me to help her get into a safe place where she can get the help she needs! Praise the Lord! I meet with her again today at noon.

I am with Q until my 6:30 appointment shows up. I fixed her some dinner while the mom and addicted son waited on the couch. I had a great meeting with them that lasted around an hour and fifteen minutes. I gave them different options of rehab and my opinion on what would be best. During this time at least five different people showed up wanting to get with me. I did my best to stay focused on
my appointment. I could actually stay there around the clock and stay busy! I looked at the clock and it was 7:45 then the thought came that I was to get with my wife for dinner. Shut the place down and got out the door before someone else showed up. This is an example of why it is that I struggle with getting these posts out even though I so much want to.

I had others stop by yesterday that I did not know. It was extremely busy! A grandmother messaged me at 4:30  asking me to go see her grandson in the Durham County jail. The bottom line which I praise the Lord for is that our new headquarters is touching lives for Jesus! It is absolutely amazing the things that are happening there! I do not think that we have seen anything yet compared to what the Lord is going to do down there! We sincerely thank all of you that pray for us and help us financially! Without the Lord touching your hearts to help we could not do all we do. I tell people all the time how much I love my job and that I believe I have the best life on this earth doing what I do! I am so blessed! Please pray for all these people!
